"For a while, yeah," Elvis says, nodding. It feels like half a lifetime ago now; he doubts he could remember with any kind of specificity exactly how long he spent there. It's strange sometimes, the number of them who were in the same, much smaller place, probably crossing paths without ever realizing it. Here, it's easier for people to get lost in the crowd, potentially going ages without running into each other.
